Pull Out Those Vintage Style Clothes from the Back of Your Closet, They're in Style again!
Vintage style clothes are considered to be any article of clothing that is ten or more years old. Think back over the past few decades at all of the fashion trends that you have seen. Some are still being made today, but with different adornments, such as the ladies cardigan. It's very likely that your grandmother wore one and it is just as likely that you own one. They may be slightly different in their style, but they are both cardigan sweaters. The pencil skirt was all the rage in the late 1940's, and is now all over the web and department stores. Straight leg jeans were on every woman in the 70's, and the bell bottom hit in the 80's and they have both come back through the cycle in the late 90's and through today. You may still have some of those articles of clothing in your closet right now. The cardigan sweater made its debut about a century and a half ago and is still in use today, a little more modern in style, but women still use them.
Can you remember the styles your mother or grandmother wore? If you're old enough you can look back through your own yearbooks or school photographs and laugh at some of the things you once wore. Often with different fabrics or different lengths and usually with different decorations you can find most of the things you wore in web stores and in department stores today being sold as brand new styles. The trick to finding your own individual style is by learning to mix and match clothes from many different decades. Doing this will allow you to develop and show your own personal style through dress. Shop online stores for clothes from several different decades and compare them to find your own style. Wearing clothes should be fun and you should consider your clothing to be a true expression of your individuality. You may like the appearance of pairing the ladies cardigan with a dress blouse and a pencil skirt for a business office look, or a cardigan with a T shirt and some fitted jeans for a flirty look. The possibilities are simply endless. Create your own fashion by using many different styles and maybe even update some of your existing clothing with fancy buttons, a new belt, a vintage hat, or even some jewelry from your grandmother's jewelry box to change your current style.
