Originating from ancient times, massage therapy is a technique used and practiced in almost every part of the world spanning across diverse cultures. He is renowned for being the founder of the therapeutic massage. George Downing further contributed to massage therapy by advocating a holistic approach to massaging that addressed an individual's mental, emotional and physical state. His massage therapies involved other popular massage techniques such as Shiatsu and reflexology. Further variations and developments in massage therapy continue to be discovered over the years whilst the demand for massage therapy is equally on the rise.
